We're just six days into the new decade, and Bugatti is already teasing us with an upcoming hypercar. This photo has recently appeared on the automaker's Instagram page and is forcing us to ask the obvious question. Is there another variant of the Chiron on the way, or could we look at something completely new?
That's a million dollar question, and since we're talking about Bugatti, we actually mean that is literally this time. Over the years, we have certainly seen some Chiron variants, not least the Centodieci inspired by the EB110. We speculate with this extremely limited model because our eyes see a little bit of EB110 in the way the nose falls off. It's sharper than what we see on a typical Chiron, and the slight glimmer of detail on the right resembles the Centodieci's thin, circumferential lights. Bugatti Centodieci photos Why tease the Centodieci? even though? The car was fully unveiled at Pebble Beach last August and the 10 models scheduled for production will not be available until 2021. It could be a fancier Centodieci with special paint, but that seems unlikely for a mysterious teaser like this. We're also unlikely to be dealing with a different divo, but we can't rule out the final version of Bonkers La Voiture Noire – the beautiful, unique Bugatti that was unveiled last year. It was shown as a non-functional prototype, so some minor changes may be made to the 1: 1 production version.
Ultimately, it is likely that Bugatti has another unique creation in the works. In June last year we reported that Bugatti was open to developing other special models such as the La Voiture Noire. Perhaps later this year we'll see another insanely expensive one-to-one hypercar from Bugatti's stable.
In the meantime, do you have any thoughts on what this car could be?
