In the auto industry, stopping the production of a model does not mean stopping sales. Looking at U.S. sales for 2019, models that were discontinued a long time ago still find new buyers, if not many. These zombie models are likely dealer rests that are used as demo vehicles or for promotional events. however, others may have been forgotten somewhere on the property.
Some models have only one or two leftovers ready for a buyer, while others sit several dozen or more across the country. After reviewing sales data, we found 10 dead automakers were sold in 2019, although three automakers dominate the list – Dodge, Chrysler, and Toyota.
